Roy Arnesen - "Arnie" - Head Boys Indoor and Outdoor Track, Asst. XC

Arnie came to Somers in 1985 and has carried this team ever since. A true diehard track fan, he has coached 22 Sectional Championship teams, more than all other coaches in Somers history combined. Known for being able to coach every event, fro the hurdles to the hammer, the 100m to the 5k, Arnesen's teams "win by committee".

Arnesen coached the only boy in Somers history to win an individual NY State Title - Pat Gazzini in the 400m hurdles. He has coached All American SMR's and 4x800's as well as a girls shuttle hurdle team.

His teams are always ready to step up when needed and his athletes love him and come back and visit year after year. Truly a Somers coaching legend who will go down as the winingest coach in school history.

Arnie has run 13 marathons in is life and still runs with the team and alone 3-5 days a week. Arnie is still a PE teacher at Primrose and when you run or drive around town with him, you realize how many kids know who he is.

Tim Fulton - Head Cross Country, Head Girls Indoor and Outoor
A 1994 Somers grad, Fulton returned in the fall of 2000 and took the helm from his former coach, Chuck Gilberti. The team has risen high under his tutelage, winning three boys XC Sectional Titles and one boys XC State title in 2004, Somers only state title in any team sport. Fulton also led the girls to 3 indoor and 2 outdoor Sectional titles, all in row from 2004-2006. Throw in over 20 All Americans on the track for the Tuskers in that time frame as well.

Not only has the team enjoyed much succes, but Fulton has alos helped the team grow. The boys XC team had a mere 10 members in 1999 and now boasts almost 40 boys. Fulton has also be instrumental in the Somers XC Course and founded in the Big Red Invitational in 2001. He continues to be the meet director for the Lions Club Invitational every May.
